Think the measley 6lb "96er" from Denny's is just a little too small? Then have a crack at this one next time you pop into Sin City. The Plaza Hotel Casino in Las Vegas have created a burger 12" in diameter, weighing a total of 9lb's! $49.95, but eat it within 24hrs, and it's yours free!

For those non-diet conscious carnivores who consider a half-pound hamburger a mere appetizer, the Upper Deck Restaurant at the Vegas Club Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas has just the hamburger: the 9 pound "Big Daddy Barrick Burger." Served with a bun 12" in diameter, a half head of lettuce, two tomatoes, two onions, four pickles, mayo, mustard and 12 slices of American cheese, the burger big enough to feed a softball team is available for $49.99. If one person finishes the burger within 24 hours, it is free!
Now this is one challenge I wouldn't mind trying, although rushing a good pizza is a little bit of a shame, I'm sure it'd be fun! Oh, and at the time of writing, only 2 groups of people have been able to complete the challenge!

A place in Germany called "Waldgeist" serves some of the biggest schnitzels and german sausages I've ever seen. Not bad for around 10 Euro's! This series of pics was mailed to me a while ago.
Apparently on each table there's aluminium foil, to make it easier for people to wrap up their leftovers. As if!
20 Pattie In 'n' Out Burger

This champion decided buying a 20 pattie burger would be the best way to get known on the net. He was right. And he actually finished it! Bahahah!!!
Yee haw. Texas is where you'll find our next eating challenge! And the name of this fine establishment? "The Big Texan", home to the "The 72oz Steak". Now for those of us who aren't too familiar with ounces, that's equivalent to around about 2kg. Puts the 'Park Road Challenge" into perspective, but of course they always do everything bigger in Texas! That said, it sure ain't cheap. US$72. Ouch. But, as most of these challenges, money is no object. When faced with a challenge, one must savour the experience!
This place has some great history. Here's some facts
- Nearly 6,200 people have succeeded in eating the 72oz. steak (since 1960).
- Almost 37,000 people have attempted to consume the free 72oz. steak (since 1960).
- Frank Pastore, a professional pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds, ate the complete steak dinner in a record that still stands today of just 9½ minutes back in May of 1987. This was Frank's 7th and fastest time to complete the steak contest in 11 years of running to spring training in Florida.
- The oldest person to eat the steak was a 69-year-old grandmother; the youngest, an 11-year old boy.
- Klondike Bill, a professional wrestler, consumed two complete dinners in the one hour time limit back in the 1960s
"The Big Texan", I tip my hat to your historical challenge, and will endeavour to see you soon!
Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, the home of the world's largest hamburger! Now they've held this record for some time now, but that was for their previous 6 pound burger, otherwise known as "The 96er". Not too long ago, it had been outsized by a rival restaurant (to be featured soon!), but Denny quickly regained the crown by releasing "The Belly Buster", which weighs in with 10 pounds of meat molded into a 20-inch patty on a specially baked, 17-inch bun.
The time had come. It was time to meet my destiny. The 1kg steak challenge at 16th on Park, Park Road, Milton. It was surprisingly easy
8kg of rump steak had been pre-ordered for this event, that's 8 x Park Road Challenges. 12 people showed up, so 4 of the guys had "normal" meals.
7pm, we arrive and sit down outside at 16th on Park. Not a bad restaurant this one. It had been recently renovated, and had its name changed from “The Hairy Lemon". I was surprised how quiet it was considering it was a Friday night at the start of Summer. Perfect weather, great time to get a few mates together for a big feed.
