New World's Largest Hamburger, 123lb'er, Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, Clearfield, PA
Contributed by: Billy
Googlemaps Location: Clearfield, PA, USA
Yes folks, it's official. Denny from Denny's Beer Barrel Pub now owns the title of the "World's Largest Commercially Available Hamburger". Weighing in at a staggering 123lb's, and called "The Main Event", this is the biggest burger you will find on any menu, anywhere in the world! How much will it cost? The listed price will be $379. Megamunch and members from the UEPa went up to take part in the event, and help Denny get rid of some extra burgers! But with greatness comes some sad news. Apparently during the speech, Denny mentioned that this would be his last attempt at the record. Nothing like going out on top Denny, congratulations! A big thank you to MegaMunch for the story and the pics!

Every time I go to Denny’s (which is twice now) I get a giddy feeling when I pull into the parking lot and feel a little sad when I have to leave. Granted, the former is probably due to me having not eaten in 24 hours prior to arriving and the latter might have something to do with having three or four pounds of burger in my belly, but that’s just how I feel.

Gary Washinsky and the Yummy Village Sushi Challenge Part 1
Contributed by: Billy
Googlemaps Location: New York, NY, USA
Famous Fat Dave recently introduced one of his friends Gary Washinsky to the Yummy Village Sushi Challenge. The Challenge: to eat more sushi than the last record holder in 20 minutes or less. Beat the previous record, get your sushi for free. Lose, and you have to pay for the sushi you've eaten. After a bit of training and support from his friends, Gary was ready... ready for what could be the toughest challenge on the Worldwide Sushi Circuit... But the question remains, does he have what it takes to conquer the Yummy Village Sushi Challenge? Part 1 of this 2 part saga starts now:
From: http://famousfatdave.com/blog/2007/02/23/the-big-washinsky/
“A way back east there was a fella. Fella I want to tell you about. Fella by the name of Gary Washinsky. At least, that’s the handle his lovin’ parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. This Washinsky, he called himself “Nigiri.” Now, Nigiri, that’s a name no one would self-apply where I come from. But then, there was a lot about Nigiri that didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. And a lot about where he lived likewise. But then again, maybe that’s why I found the place s’durned innarestin’.”

How to make a Burger King Burger Throne
Contributed by: Billy
The German " Burger King" has recently placed instructions on their tray mats on how to make a "Burger Throne". Why you may ask? So that you can place your Whopper upon it and worship it. Rightly so! Kinda reminds me of the Twin Towers of Fries! Have you made a burger throne? Send us the pics! ( or use the Submit button at the top of the page!)
From: http://www.instructables.com/id/ELOLRHDKRAEWT1K2JG/
I found this instructable at Burger King in Germany. It is just too weird to keep to myself: Burger King Germany has instructions on how to build a throne made of fries and ketchup. The step-by-step instructions are printed on the paper that is put on your tray when you order food. According to the instructions, the throne is meant for setting down the burger on it and worshipping it.

White Castle Meat Product Tolerance Marathon Scorebook
Contributed by: Billy
Fine traditions of our past shouldn't fall by the wayside.... they should continue, be cherished, and above all else, be respected for what they are. But alas, it seems one fine tradition has met a tragic fate, and will no longer be passed onto future generations. That tradition, once held by the Princeton University Band is the "White Castle Meat Product Tolerance Marathon Scorebook". Running for 16 years, this fine tradition involved consuming as many White Castle "Sliders" as possible in one sitting. History was made, records were broken, tears were shed, royalty was appointed. A shame the tradition no longer lives on ;(
From: http://www.princeton.edu/~puband/old/white-castle.html
It can get kinda slow during Dead Week, the days between the end of school and the start of Reunions. (Hence the name.) Among the Band's activities is the Annual White Castle® Meat Product Tolerance Competition. After rehearsal one night, we head up Route 1 to White Castle in the hopes of setting new individual and team records for hamburger comsumption.

WaffleLord and the 20 chicken nuggets in 2 minutes
Contributed by: Billy
It might sound like an easy challenge, but 20 chicken nuggets is still a fair bit for the untrained competitive eater. This guy tries to down 20 in 2 minutes.... will "the drink" ruin his chances, or get him over the line? I dig the little "nugget counter" in the corner :D

1 minute lunch buffet?

Only 1 minute? That sounds like a challenge! I suspect this is a sign from Pizza Hut (based on its flickr pools) but not sure. If you know where it's from, drop a comment! I wonder what the world record is for most pizza consumed in one minute... hmm...
