The World's Longest Hot Dog, Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan
Contributed by: Billy
Shizuoka Meat Producers of Shizuoka, Japan and the All-Japan Bread Association had a mission. To create the World's Longest Hot Dog! Armed with a 50m conveyor, the dough was moved along the conveyor through the oven so it would be baked in one continuous section. The Hot Dog itself was pre-made and stored in a large plastic barrel prior to the event. Once the bun was baked, the hot dog was placed, and voila! The World's Longest Hot Dog!

On August 4, 2006 a hot dog measuring 60m in a bun measuring 60.3m was made by the Shizuoka Meat Producers of Shizuoka, Japan and the All-Japan Bread Association to obtain the world record. International media was onhand, and supporting documents have been verified by Guinness. The hot dog was made as the central part of a media event surrounding the 50th anniversary of the All-Japan Bread Association.

Japanese goldfish live in (and clean) a deep fryer
Contributed by: Billy
This is crazy! These Goldfish are actually living in a working Deep Fryer! Fish live in the water below the heated oil that sits on top of the water. Any crumbs fall down through to the water, where the goldfish can safely eat them. Amazing!

there is a cooling system between the water and the oil. It took them ten years to develop it. So the bits of tempura batter fall down and stick together, which keeps the oil clean (the bits don't float around and burn). Also, if you throw frozen pieces of food into a fryer, usually the oil will react violently, but now the waters sinks and cools instead of becoming vapor.
Yes, you read right.... Chicken Fried Bacon Strips. 7 years ago, Frank Sodolak at Sodolak's Original Country Inn in Snook, TX, was coming up with ideas for appetisers. "I wonder what bacon would taste like, chicken fried? So I tried it...", he thought. And his latest menu item was born. A simple, tasty recipe, bacon strips dipped in chicken fried batter and deep fried!

I've heard of a Gobstopper, but this is just crazy. It's a Giant Chupa Chup at a candy store somewhere. That sure would keep you busy for quite a while!

Giant Haggis
Contributed by: Billy
Haggis. Some would call it one of the most disgusting sausages ever created. With ingredients like sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately an hour (Wikipedia) it's not surprising people cringe at the idea of eating one. And if a "normal" sized haggis isn't enough, check this one out. A giant Haggis. Reminds me of those sand worms from the movie "Dune"!

shopo34 and the McNugget Challenge
Contributed by: Billy
shopo34 gives the Chicken McNugget Challenge a go, and manages to down 61 McDonalds Chicken McNuggets in one 30 minute sitting. He looks pretty happy at the start, but not so happy near the end! Dave "Megamunch" Shoffner still holds the title though at 80 in 30 minutes!
