Actually I grew up in the 50's with a simple version of this...we just slit the dog down the middle, laid long strips of Velveeta in the opening, closed it, wrapped the bacon around, and popped it in the oven on a cookie sheet...later in the 60's we used the toaster oven! Simple, elegant junkfood!!!
