Rissol Gigante!

Remember Tiago from the Pizzaburger Experiment? Well he's back, this time with a creation that he's made from scratch! He's named it "Rissol Gigante", mainly because he's not sure of the true English translation. No matter, I like the name, it's catchy! Behold! Rissol Gigante, a mince filling wrapped in pastry and deep fried till golden brown!

Being British I can most confidently say this resembles a Pastie more than anything (note: not specifically a Cornish one!) A rissole would be more like a large meatball or *censored* made from leftover minced meat and breadcrumbs. At least that's how my Mum makes them.

Here in the US we call those fried Mexican pastries "empanadas," though I'm pretty sure it should just be called a "dumpling."
