I have eaten my fair share of La Bamba Burritos while a student at the University of Illinois. The big size one is huge, weighs probably about 5lbs or so and is a couple of meals for most people. It was a great place to go after drinking at the local bars or for a quick lunch during school. You pick your ingredients, they make it right in front of you. They also had some of the best orchata I've had outside of the southwest, and probably most workers there are illegals who don't speak much English (if you know Spanish you are set) but it used to be fairly cheap (about $7 for the large with drink) and always good.

The big burrito is definitely not 5lbs worth. They are decent sized burritos, but not above average in terms of quality here in Chicago. They were great in college where there were no other choices, but that's about it. If you are in a college town it's your best bet. If you're in Chicago, there's ton of other options nearby the Lincoln Park location.

I have had my share of these, and while they are quite large, they are in fact NOT as big as your head, nor my head, or anyone else's head I held it up to the last time I had one in my hand.

I just got back from LaBamba's a few minutes ago. The burrito, while tasting terrible, was about the size of my arm between the wrist and elbow.
