Why Cadbury haven't started making these has got me beat. They'd make a truckload of cash if they did (or maybe they'd make less because people wouldn't buy as many to do this!) Check this one out, it's the Creme de la Creme Egg! Custom made filling, about 3 times as big, and even has a nice custom made wrapper!

Who hasn't eaten a Creme Egg and thought, 'why don't they make these full size?' Cadbury's have definitely missed a trick here, so I thought I'd see what it would be like. Total cost, £18.39. Click on the pictures for further details.

[CONTINUED]

This is what I started with - one full size Cadbury Creme Egg Easter egg (giant size), and 12 Creme Eggs, six that came with the Easter egg and another six. A dozen Creme Eggs? That should be plenty I thought.

Everything unpacked and ready for use. Cadbury don't even make the effort to try and make the full size egg look like a Creme egg. You can see the size of the task ahead of me.

This bit took a bit of time. Cadbury certainly don't make it easy to unwrap the Easter egg without ripping the foil. Then again, what sort of loon is going to want to wrap it up again?

Just to give an idea of how much bigger my custom Creme Egg would be I thought I'd measure it - 45cm x 52cm versus 11cm x 14cm for a standard one. Someone who's better at maths than me could probably work out the difference in volume.

Who'd have thought it would be so difficult to unwrap a Creme Egg without ripping the foil? Unfortunately about 1 in 3 eggs had suffered from, for want of a better term, leakage. If NASA are looking for a substance to stick the tiles to the Shuttle, they need look no further than the inside of a Creme Egg.

With all 12 Creme Eggs unwrapped, it soon became obvious that I'd grossly misunderestimated the number I'd need - they only filled one half of the egg. There was only one thing for it...more Creme Eggs!

Another 15 Creme Eggs to be precise. I actually cleared the local shop out of all their remaining eggs, so sorry to any children looking forward to an Easter Egg hunt - it ain't going to happen.

That's everything unwrapped and ready. I was actually starting to feel a bit sick of the smell by this point.

This is what the inside of 27 Creme Eggs look like - not very appertizing is it? Believe me, there was absolutely no temptation to eat any of the shells.

This is the Creme Egg insides scooped into the Easter egg. Is it just me, or does this look like baby sick?

Ta da - the finished product. To be honest, I couldn't get it wrapped up quick enough. If you're trying to give up a chocolate addiction, I highly recommend carrying out this exercise.

To give an idea of scale, here's my Giant Creme Egg pictured next to a normal one. I'm concious of the fact that I havent exactly sold the idea here, but if by next Easter Cadbury aren't making one of these for real, they don't deserve to be in the chocolate Easter egg business.
