[Updated 8 Sep 06 - 2 new pics!] You'd expect there to be some supersized Pizzas in New York, and this place is no exception. Not surprisingly, Koronet Pizza had to order in custom pans to make these monstrosities!

Went out to Koronet Pizza the other day - haven’t been back for sometime. Koronet Pizza is located at 110th street and Broadway just conveniently 6 blocks south of Columbia University (also a few blocks south of Caffee Swish). Koronet is really the King of pizzas and they’re famous for their jumbo giant pizza slices. For $2.75 you basically get the equivalent of 2 pizza slices as compared to delis throughout the city.

Size comparison with a dollar bill
I used to bike up here and get a slice just for lunch. Here’s a photo I took of one cheese slice - you can use my ipod to gauge this cheese slice’s size.
I actually heard a rumor that Koronet Pizza had to special order pans for these giant pizza pies. The actual taste? Well I suppose you get what you pay for - the sauce on the pizza is runny and the crust of the pizza dough is a little chewy but overall it’s not a bad slice for the money.
Hey, I lived off of Blondie’s and Fat Slice out in Berkeley so I know about college students and pizza. But I have to say this is nothing like my favorite pizza places such as Patsy’s or Two Boots, or Joe’s down in the village.
Thanks to Slice NY for some great photos, and confirming the location of some of the new ones!
